Shaker card

Christmas Card

This Saturday, September 25th we’ll be using Copic markers, Justrite Stampers, and Spellbinders dies to create Christmas cards.  Shown above are two of the cards we’ll be doing.  The Snowflake Ornament card has a shaker with Polar White Flower Soft in it.  If you haven’t made a shaker card before, they’re easy and interesting.  All class attendees will take home two Copic markers.  These alcohol markers are a joy to use.  Check the email or call the store for further details of the class.

Next Week’s Class

Inside pages from Halloween Book

Countdown to Christmas Box

I thought I’d give you a look at a couple of pages in the project for this week’s class.  This is a cute interactive book with plenty of places to put the Halloween pictures you’ll take of your little ghosts and goblins.  When you pull the tag with the ribbons, the picutre slides up and exposes a secret message.  Too cute!  There is also a “waterfall” feature and a mummy who moves.  You just have to see it all in person.

The Christmas Countdown Box will be done in a class in October.  There is a drawer for each day in December counting down to the 25th.  Each little drawer will hold a surprise:  candy or a trinket.  Your favorite child gets to open a drawer each day.  This class will include a tri-shutter card and a couple of other cards.  Watch  the email newsletter for more details.

How Old?

Thinking of You

Just a quick post to show you the two cards I did with some of the paper in the gift bags from a couple of weeks ago.  The first cards uses some of the birthday paper, and the second card uses the tea party paper.  I used the rose design from the corner and the lattice is from the other side.  Don’t you just love doublesided paper?    I got the Copic marker order in today, so I’m well stocked with markers of all colors, yea!!  I also got an order in from DRS Stamps with quite a few golf stamps, including some great sayings.  Happy stamping!

Interactive Book

Extra Cards

Every year Pinecone Press comes out with a super Halloween kit.  This year is no exception.  We’ll be making this little book filled with interactive pages that may be used as an album or just filled with Halloween fun.  If you’re interested in this class, I recommend stopping in the store to see this book close up.  The cards were made with leftovers and will not be part of the class.  The cost for the class is $25.00 and includes the materials needed.  You will need to bring a 12 inch paper cutter, small scissors, tape runner, bone folder, and red liner tape.

New cards to show you!

A New Design

What can be done with wood paper

I’ve been busy.  The first card was one that I was playing around with the design.   As in the one card Sunday, I used the Basic Grey Max and Whiskers paper.  Perfect for fall or any occasion.  The second card is one sent to me using the RealWood paper.  My order arrived this afternoon.  This  paper is made from real wood veneer from Wisconsin.  It comes in birch and cherry and in 12×12, 8 1/2 x 11, and 6×12 inch pieces.  It is also available in thin and thick pieces.  It can be stamped, inked, embossed with cuttlebug folders or brass templates, and cut by most die cut machines.  What a great product!!   A great big thank you to those of you who subscribed to receive email when I do a new post.  I have a thank you in the store for those who subscribed.  Stop by the store Thursday or Friday to receive a gift with any purchase.  Hope to see you soon.
