New Military Cards

These are two new cards for Operation Write Home.  Some of you may have already gotten these in your kit.  As I run out of a patterned paper, I substitute new cards.  These are simple but effective designs using Hero Arts stamps.  If you’re interested in helping assemble these cards, stop by the store.  The kits are $5.00 and you receive a $5.00 store credit when you return the assembled cards.  All cutting, punching, and stamping is done, just put them together.  If you belong to a church or social group that would like to help with this project, let me know.  The last time I checked the website, they had 25 new units asking for the cards.  This is in addition to the units that regularly get boxes of cards.  The word is spreading!

The new colors of Stickles will be in the store this week, as well as a new order of Hero Arts new designs.  The last order went really fast.  And if you haven’t been in to see the cards with the honeycomb paper, they are really cute!!!

News about the Blog

Hello again!  I don’t usually post two days in a row, but I wanted to show you these two cards and tell you about how we have set up categories for the blog.  First the cards are both done with Hero Arts stamps.  The Chair and saying on the card on the right are designs from the new catalog.  The card on the left is a design from last year.  It makes a cute Valentine don’t you think?

Now, for the categories,  when you’re looking at the blog and as you scroll down, you will see on the right hand side a box marked categories.  If you click on that box, you will see a list of categories, such as Hero Arts stamps,  Martha Stewart punches, Valentines, etc.  Click on the one you’re interested in and all of the cards done with that particular company on type will be displayed.  This way you do not have to go through all the posts to find what you want.  Pretty neat!!  Enjoy using the blog!

While I’m at it.  I have plenty of the Military kits ready to be picked up and assembled.  I was reading on the website for that they currently have 25 units asking for cards.  This is really spreading.  That is great, but it means that they need that many more cards.  It you’re interested, click on the link in the line above and read more.  They have sent more than 804,000 cards so far.  Amazing!!

Too Cute

Isn’t this card just too cute?   This is just one set of clear stamps used in this card, and the cupcake is made with honeycomb paper.  You really need to see this in person, along with the frog, elephant, caterpillar, and monkey sets.  I’ll be doing a class with these on Feb. 12th.

Another Valentine Card

Here’s another card I did with some leftover paper.  This could be used for a lot of other occasions beside Valentine”s Day.  Don’t forget that the store is open Mondays from 11:00 to 2:30.  There will be no class this Saturday.

New Hero Arts Image

This is one of the new stamps from Hero Arts and comes from a clear set with bicycles, a tricycle, and a scooter, great designs for men and boys cards.  The paper is more of the Max and Whiskers paper collection from Basic Grey.  My Hero order came in Monday, and the stamps are selling really well, so I put in another order today.  The new order of peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry arrived yesterday, so there are lots of sets in the store.   If you’re interested in them, stop by while there’s a good selection!

Peg Card Class

The class this Saturday, Jan. 22nd will include this card,  and the one from the  Jan. 10th post, and the heart box from the Jan. 6th post.  There will be at least another card included in the class.  These are cards done with peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.  The cost for the class is $22.00 and includes a set of stamps valued at $12 to $13 to take home.  The class meets from 10:00 to noon, and you need to bring small scissors, adhesive, and a craft sheet.  Preregistration and prepayment is required.  You may either stop by the store to pay, or call the store with a cc#.

Thanks to those of you who have already picked up a military kit.  These kits are precut, stamped, and ready to assemble.  I have quite a few ready, and I plan on doing this for a couple of months.  You are also welcome to make your own cards and drop them off at the store.

I expect my order of new stamps from Hero Arts to arrive this week.  I think they’ll be here tomorrow.  They have some nice vintage sets including, telephones, typewriters, cars, and one with bicycles, tricycle, scooter, and the antique big wheel bicycle.  There are some new saying sets, including birthday and sympathy.  I also ordered extra catalogs.  They always have great ideas in their catalogs.  So stop by the store and check out the new stamps, pick up a military kit or two, and why not sign up for a class.  Start the New Year with others who share your passion for cardmaking and take home a set of stamps and some great cards!

I’m Back in the Store

The planned weekend trip lasted a lot longer thanks to the snowstorm.  However, we’re back, and I’ll be in the store tomorrow, Friday.  Thanks for your patience.  This card is one that I designed, using the left over strips of paper from one of the military cards.  The background is stamped with a large background stamp from Hero Arts using Dune ink.  This is a combination I like to use a lot.
