New Martha Stewart Punch

This card shows the new Vintage Floral punch set.  You get both the corner and border punches in one set so you can punch around the corner.  This design reminds me of old hank y lace or tatting.  The paper is from Basic Grey’s Kioshi collection.  The butterfly and hello stamps are from Hero Arts.  I finally got confirmation that some of the new Spellbinders are scheduled to arrive next Monday,  Apr 4th.  Check with me on Tuesday.  I can’t wait!!!

New Card Designs

Here are two cards using some of the SEI paper.  They produce some really sophisticated designs.   The second card shows a way to use up some of those small pieces of paper that we seem  to be unable to throw away,  Rounding two opposite corners gives a different look.  All of the stamps used are from Hero Arts, and, of course, the punched border is a Martha Stewart design.

Good news!!  Some of the new Spellbinders dies will be here this week!!!!   Also, a new order of the Inky Antics stamp sets and honeycomb paper arrived last week.

There will be no class this Saturday.  Watch for an Easter class on April 9th.

New Cards for this week!

Sometimes I think I have a virus.  I’m not sure if there is a cardmaking virus, but if there is one, I have it.  I don’t think I can stop.  Anyway, here are two cards I did this week.  Of course, there are Martha Stewart punches and Nestibilities used on them.  These will be in the military kits.  I plan to make these kits until April 16th, and then I need them returned to the store by April 30th.  So, you still have a month to pick up a kit and return it.

New in the store this week is paper by Kaisercraft and 6×6 paper pads from Cosmo Cricket.  My reorder of Sizzix embossing folders arrived, and also more of the Honeycomb paper and stamps.  If you haven’t seen the samples in the store, you need to.  They are just too cute!!!  Now about the new Nestibilities, they are getting close.  Hopefully, they should be in the store after April 1st.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Class on Saturday, March 26

This card is one I made this weekend, and some like it will go to the military.  I found the patterned paper on the bottom half didn’t inspire me until I found the cream paper that went with it.  I added the black, and stamped the leaves with black, and now I like the paper.  I also did some with a solid daisy stamp on the top.

The class this Saturday, will be using the Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps.  I only have a few spaces left, so if you’re interested, let me know.  If you go to Categories and click on Rubber Stamp Tapestry, you will see some of the cards done with the peg stamps.  We’ll be making four cards with them.  The cost for the class is $22.00 and you will have a set of stamps to take home.  You will need to bring small scissors and adhesive.  Please call the store to register.  Class meets from 10:00 to noon.  Questions?  Call me at the store.

Thinking of You

Here are two new cards using some of the SEI paper.  Although you can’t see it in the picture, the paper has metallic touches.  While orange has never been one of my favorite colors, I really like the way these cards work.  You may find these in the military kits.  And while I’m on the subject, Operation Write Home has sent over 881,000 cards.  I started counting up the cards that have been returned, and we’re over 1,100 already.  I thinking we’ll probably have around 1500.  Thanks to all who have participated!  If you haven’t picked up a kit yet, I still have more in the store.

Class on Saturday, March 19th

I am repeating the class I did  last Saturday.  I changed the flower on the You’re Special card.  This is a dimensional flower that I like better and thought you might enjoy learning to make.  The card from last Sunday’s post with the large flower needs a little explanation.  It is not made with alcohol inks, but with Distress Inks.  The paper can then either be used for a background or stamped on, as in this card.  The third card is done with the new Hero Arts magnolia background stamp and colored with Copic markers.  We’ll be using the markers in class.  The cost of the class is $22.00 and you will get $12.00 off your purchase that day.  This is a fun class where you will learn two techniques and play with Copics.  Class meets from 10:00 to noon and you need to bring small scissors, adhesive, and a craft sheet.  Please email or call the store to register.  If you email, I will hold your place until closing on Tuesday to give you time to call with cc#.

New paper came in this week from Imaginisce.  This cute summer line has bright colors and lots of fruit.  It’ll make cute cards or pages.  In fact, see the sample page in the store done with this line.

More Cards for the Military

Here are two new cards that will be going to our soldiers.  If you come to the store to get a kit, these may be in it.  I’m back to my old standbys, Hero Arts stamps, Spellbinder’s Nestibilities, and Martha Stewart punches.  I couldn’t design cards without them.

The Hero Arts order came in yesterday, so I have a lot of their new stamps, including the ones to match one of  Basic Grey’s new lines.  I also have the 6×6 paper pads from this line.  For those of you who put in special orders for Hero stamps, they’re in the store now.
