Calendar Class

This is the calendar that we’ll be making next Saturday,  October 1st.  Each page has a space for a picture, or if you don’t want pictures, you could add inspirational sayings, scripture verses, or anything else that has meaning for you.  We will do the whole calendar in one class.  If you’re interested in seeing the whole calendar, you may stop in the store to take a look.  Cost for the class is $20.00 and needs to be prepaid or you may call the store with a cc#. Class starts at 10:00 and ends at noon.  You will need to bring small scissors and adhesive.  If you choose to use a tape runner, you will also need to bring a liquid glue to use on small embellishments.  These calendars make a very special Christmas gift to family members.  Class size is limited so call the store, email me, or stop in to register.    Class kits will be available for purchase, but please call so I can have one ready for you.  Also, call about mailing a kit.  I hope you are able to join me for this fun class.

New Magazines have arrived

It’s almost the end of September, and time to start thinking about making Christmas Cards.  Several new magazine have arrived at the store.  This is a picture of the Holiday Cards from Papercraft.  It is jammed full of great ideas for cards, and other holiday items.  Also, check out one of the new Christmas papers from Graphic 45.  Sorry, but our scanner only does 8.5 x 11.  This picture gives you some idea of the theme of this collection.  Other new items include papers from Studio Calico,  and some great new stamp designs.  Stop by to see them.

New Christmas Card

Here is a design I haven’t used before.  It uses Basic Gray paper and a Spellbinder Fancy Tag 2 die.  I cut off one end to make it look like a tag, added a ribbon tied in a knot, and it’s done.

For those of you who have been waiting for Christmas paper, the Graphic 45 came in yesterday.  I’ll post a picture tonight.  Graphic 45 has a wonderful vintage look.  Really nice paper.

Tubes are here!

Finally, the tubes are here.  The wands are the thin tubes that are a foot long.  They’re just big enough to fill with M & M’s.  What a great favor for a young girl’s Princess Party.  The tubes are about an inch in diameter and are about 7 and 5 inches long.  Fill with whatever you like, since they are food safe.  Fill a tube and hang a tag with a name or picture of guests at a dinner party.  Use with birdseed for a wedding.  At only a $1.00 a tube, see how many uses you can find.

Shimmer Card

I know it’s hard to see, but the green paper has a shimmer,  the striped paper is glittered, and , of course, I’ve used my favorite Martha Stewart punch, Layered Arches.  The stamp is an old Printworks design layered on a Spellbionders die cut square.  This card will end up going to www.operationwritehome.org for our military personel to send home to their families.  I still have kits of cards for this great endeavor available at the store.  The kits are $5.00 and have five cards ready to assemble.  When the assembled cards are returned, you’ll receive a $5.00 store credit.  There is still time to put together a kit or two.  However, if you have kits with Christmas cards in them, PLEASE return them as soon as possible.  I want to send the Christmas cards off Oct. 3rd.  So, please have them at the store no later than Sept. 30th.  The kits in the store have no Christmas cards in them, and can be returned by the end of October.  Please call the store if you have any questions.

A Touch of Copper

I’m happy to be back in town!  We had an enjoyable time visiting several of our state parks.  It’s always fun to get away.  But, before I left on Friday, I had a chance to put together this card.  The blue print from SEI has just a touch of copper on it.  The print looks like a quilt fabric, so I added a piece of lace trim I’ve had forever.  I think it really gives this card an oldtime feel.

Don’t forget that the store will have regular hours this week, so there will be plenty of time to get in and see the new Spellbinders dies!!

Store Hours

Please note that the store will be closed this Saturday,  September 10th.  I will be out of town for the weekend.  The store will be open tomorrow, Friday, regular hours 10:00 to 4:00 and regular hours next week, Monday noon to 2:30 and Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 to 4:00.

This card was made with some of the new Cosmo Cricket paper, and uses a Martha Stewart punch,  and Hero Arts stamps.

The Spellbinders order came in today.  There are some great new dies that you might want to stop in and check out.
