New Stamps are in!

I received my order from Impression Obsession Friday.  Besides lots of nice little greetings, these nice background stamps were in the order.  I’m going to be doing this card as a mini class this week.  It will only take you a few minutes and the cost is $5.00.  Stop in any time during store hours.  You only need to bring adhesive.

If you’ve been waiting for the Hero Arts stamps with matching embossing folders, they’re finally here.  I do expect them to go fast.  Also, there are new ornament stamps that can be cut with the new Spellbinders Heirloom ornament for 2011.  The stamp design includes a poinsettia that can be cut with the Spellbinders poinsettia die set and layerd.  It’s really gorgeous.  I have also started stocking more colors of the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads and his new Distress Stains.  Want to color a piece of paper really fast?  Then you need the distress staines, with a dauber top, they make quick work of coloring cardstock.  So stop in and see how quickly you can make a beautiful card.  See you soon.

Ornament Topper

I thought you might be interested in this ornament topper that was made today in a class.  The two in the class are from the Memphis area, and I thought their toppers turned out really gorgeous.  It’s amazing what you can do with a rubber stamp, paper, scissors, glitter, and gem stones.  If you haven’t seen these toppers before, the hole in the center fits over the top of a glass ornament.  If you’re interested in the stamps or a class, I’ll have more stamps in soon.

Hero Arts Card

This card uses the new sets of Hero Arts stamps and Sizzix dies and embossing folders.  The background was stamped and embossed with the embossing set, and the pink flower was stamped and cut out with the die set.  Some of these are finally arriving in the store Friday, and more will be in early next week.  They are easy to line up and make a great impression (no pun intended).  New stamps are in from Stacy Stamps.  This is a new company for the store.  Be sure to check out the year round wreath that can be decorated for any season or event.  There are some nice background stamps and a lighthouse (great for a man’s card).  Also, the new issue of Cards magazine and the Christmas Card magazine came in today.  If you need ideas, these have really nice ones.

Just a reminder that I need any military cards back at the store by the end of the week!!

Hello Card

I thought you might like to see this card using some older SEI papers.  It also uses an older Hero Arts stamp.  It’s not very fancy, but I thought it turned out well.

Please note:  if you have any cards for Operaion Write  Home that you have not returned to the store, please bring them in by Oct. 31st.  I will be taking them to Kansas in early November.

I’m back from the Houston Show with great ideas!

We had a super trip, but are happy to be back.  I learned some new techniques, played with new products, and ordered new things.  Orders should start coming  in about two weeks.  While the new products won’t be in right away, I have samples from the classes I took.  So, stop in the store to take a look.

The picture above is the front of a paper bag book we made.  Some of you remember the paper bag books (made from lunch sacks) we made a few years ago.  Wait until you see this one, it’s really cute!  I hope to do this in a class, soon.

Now that I’m back, the store will be open regular hours starting tomorrow, 10:00 to 4:00.  Hope to see you soon!!

More Cards from Houston Show

I had fun today working with glitter, stickers, shimmer paper, and embossing folders.  The results can be seen in these two sample cards.  I also took a class with Tim Holtz.  You’ll have to stop in the store this week to see what we did.  Remember, the store will reopen Tuesday morning at 10:00.  I’ll have more for you to see then.  I hope to do one more post, before we leave tomorrow.

Hello from Houston

I hope you like these two cards that are from the two classes I took today.  The left one is from the Hero Arts class, and the one on the right is from the Impression Obsession.  They both use new techniques.  Watch for more posts this weekend.  And, of course, there will be classes at the store incorporating these new techniques when I get back!
