The Die Store

R. U. Stampin’ & Scrappin’ is now officially a “die” store.  I received a large order of Memory Box dies today.  There are more dies in the store than I’ve ever had.  The pictures show 4 new dies that were in the order.  The frame and backing are gorgeous, and what do you think of the snowflake wreath and tree?  As always, I have a limited number of each die and for the best selection, come early.  If you have any questions about these dies, give me a call or email me.

Also an order from Heartfelt Creations arrived today.  Many of these stamps can be cut by Spellbinder dies you may already own.  There are flowers, of course, birdhouses, Christmas ornaments, and a pocket.  Be sure to take a look at the samples I made in their classes.

New Memory Box Stamps & Dies

The new stamps and dies are all here.  This is what was in the box!  Above are four of the sample cards sent by the company using both dies and stamps.  Some of the stamps like the pumpkin have a die to match.  This is really great for the scissor challenged.  The vine below the pumpkin is also a die.  I happen to really like the little bird.  Again, the stamps have a die to match as does the ornament.  If you’ve been looking for an alphabet without spending a lot, there are three different fonts.  These are the most amazing dies.  Stop in the store and do a quick make n’ take using some of the new die cuts.  There is no charge,  just a lot of fun.

I just received a new card magazine  called Card Design Handbook.  It covers composition, balance, color, and style.  The color section alone is worth buying the magazine.  Of course, it has over 280 ideas and a lot of great tips.  Check this one out!

Watch tomorrow for pictures of the new dies.

Halloween Ideas from CHA Chicago

CHA is over and I got some great ideas.  Thought you might like to see these Halloween cards.  I’m not sure if you can see it, but the faces are metal buttons like election buttons.  I thought they were really cute.  It’s a new idea from Darcie’s Rubber stamps.  You stamp the whole design then add the button.  I plan on getting these in the store when they’re ready in a month.  Let me know what you think.

We’re heading home tomorrow, and I’ll be in the store on Monday.  Have a great weekend.

Hello from CHA

What’s In The Box?

Here is a card made with paper from Little Yellow Bicycle.  It’s always easier to work with papers that are designed to go together.  I think there are 5 or 6 doublesided papers in this collection.  The stamp is a vintage (retired) Stampington stamp.  Use either a punch or die for the scalloped square.

Now, WHAT IS IN THE BOX?  All I know is it contains the new dies and stamps from Memory Box and should be here the last week in July.  It will be like Christmas in July with lots of oohs and aahs.  Watch the blog for it’s arrival.

Lastly, PLEASE NOTE:  the store will be closing tomorrow Saturday, at 1:00, and will be closed all of next week, so that I may attend the CHA show in Chicago.  I will be back in the store on Monday, July 23rd for regular hours.  Watch for posts from the show with peeks of new products.

Christmas Card

The poinsettia on this card is done with the Spellbinders Poinsettia die set.  I wanted one of these sets last year, but they were really hard to get.  I used the middle two sizes to get this flower.  The paper is from Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses collection.

I haven’t talked about Flower Soft for quite awhile, but I got an order in today with a lot of the new colors: Daffodil, Crocus, Cornflower, Marigold, Meadow, Old Rose, Pink Peony, and Patriotic.  All of these are mixtures of light and dark colors.  Patriotic is a brand new red, white, and blue mixture.  If you haven’t seen what you can do with the product, ask me to show you, since it’s really hard to get a good picture of it.  It is similar to flocking, but with more texture so it adds a lot of dimension to your projects.

New Make and Take Card

This is the new Make and Take card that came with the order from Impression Obsession today.  You can stop in the store and make this card for no charge, while supplies last.  For those of you who made the birdhouse card last month, I have those stamps in the store now.  These are always nice projects with techniques you might not have learned before, but supplies are limited, and these cards have become very popular.
